about ben

Ben (he/him) is a self-taught, working class, multidisciplinary queer artist based in London. Initially focusing on audio and sound design, he graduated with a BSc in Audio Design & Production from the University of Kent before moving to Brighton with his band Sugardaddies, self-producing and releasing four EP’s and a full album before eventually relocating to North London.

His interest in visual art piqued during a period of recovery from active addiction where he began to focus on developing his practice, currently working primarily in ink & watercolour, charcoal, and acrylic. He also enjoys working in many other mediums creating stencils, jewelry, and clothing, alongside a myriad of props and costume elements for his drag artist partner. They are currently collaborating on installations and illustrated writing projects together.

Ben’s art explores themes of queerness, sexuality, mental health, relationships, politics, late-stage capitalism, and addiction & recovery, among others.
